Homestay -Definition:  New Zealanders offering homestay accommodation really enjoy meeting people and visitors are treated as special guests. Often well travelled themselves, hosts will share local knowledge, experiences and culture. With comfortable surroundings, many are situated outside the inner city boundaries but close to major facilities and transport. Typical Homestays provide meals.

         Cancellation of booking:
  • No refund will be given to the traveller in the event of a "Traveller No-Show"
  • No refund for cancellation within 24 hours of arrival.
  • All other cancellations will be individually assessed for a full refund.
  • The easiest, time saving way to pay the Northland Gateway Toll Road fee when heading North to The Riverbank is to pay by credit card via the Internet when you arrive at The Riverbank. New Zealand Transit give you five days to pay.
  • If you are travelling by car or camper van we recommend that you rent a Tourism Radio unit. It is incredible! We had one for our own holiday here and found it fantastic. It made a big difference to our holiday. No matter where you are it gives a commentary for that area and informs you of nearby attractions as the unit knows where you are. When there is no commentary it plays a super selection of music from a playlist that lasts at least two weeks of travel. Note - We have no financial interest in Tourism radio. Visit the website and check it out from our reccomended links page.
